The well is one of the first buildings obtained in Foundation. It becomes available after placing the first Builder's Workshop.

The well is essential to the wellbeing of Villagers, if they cannot access a well their happiness will drop due to a lack of Water. A prolonged lack of water will add a persisting water shortage penalty to happiness and will restore gradually once sustainable access is available again. In addition to satisfying the happiness of villagers, a well also increases the desirability of a surrounding area and act as a water source for the Bakery and Brewery
